The intermediate Apprenticeship provides the skills and knowledge required to become competent in supporting Health Professionals (eg doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, healthcare scientists, paramedics) to provide clinical healthcare. Apprentices are employed as clinical healthcare support workers/healthcare assistants/emergency care assistants and work alongside Health Professionals providing patient care in a range of settings. Apprentices gain the new skills and learning they need to carry out these job roles as well as preparing them for future employment and career progression within the health sector. This work-based programme was designed and developed with employers.
