What will I do on this study programme? This study programme is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the equine industry. The British Horse Society-approved Badgworth Equestrian and Animal Centre, is a commercial competition establishment, supporting British Jumping and British Dressage at a national level. 50% of the study programme will be delivered at the Centre, working with industry experts who will ensure that you experience the real world of work. In addition, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a number of local and national equestrian events and make valuable contacts in the industry. This study programme has practical and theoretical units that cover all aspects of the equine industry. You will develop your riding and horse husbandry skills and learn about horse anatomy, health, nutrition and breeding as well as covering legislation and business acumen. How will I be assessed? Observation of practical activities, group work, presentations, coursework and examinations. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Equine Management, Foundation Degree at Weston College in partnership with the University of the West of England Degree in equine science, nursing or dentistry, veterinary nursing degree. Job/career opportunities A career working with horses such as riding instructor, elite and advanced grooming, equine behaviourist, jockey, farrier, holistic therapies or self-employment.
