Leadership for Health and Social Care Services, Higher Apprenticeship

What will I do during this apprenticeship? This qualification is the required qualification for individuals who are working as care managers or advanced practitioners within the health and social care sectors in the General Adult Social Care pathway. This qualification facilitates the learner to develop knowledge, skills and expertise in a management role in a number of different types of settings including an individual's own home, supported accommodation, day care or residential accommodation. Learners could be working with individuals who are vulnerable, have learning disabilities, sensory and/or physical impairments or with individuals who require additional support. To successfully achieve this qualification the learner must complete a total of 90 credits. Learners must achieve all units from the mandatory group and the remaining units to be chosen from the optional groups for the selected pathway. To complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services the learner should expect to undertake between 586 and 695 hours of learning, depending upon unit choice. How will I be assessed? This qualification is assessed in the workplace through the completion of a portfolio of evidence, which is compiled during the course and demonstrates that the learner has achieved the required assessment criteria. You will be assigned a personal, specialised assessor who will support you through monthly visits.
