What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job - getting paid while you learn from your employer and coming into college for one day a week for practical training, theory, demos and to work in our commercial salon. You will learn the theory and skills in the NVQ Level 2 in Barbering. You will get skills for current barbering trends such as creating basic patterns in the hair. The topics you will study include drying hair to shape finished looks for men, cutting hair using basic barbering techniques and cutting facial hair using basic techniques. How will I be assessed? Your personal assessor will visit your salon to review your progress. We will also assess you at our commercial college salon and you will do online tests. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Barbering, Advanced Apprenticeship Other Level 3 qualifications. Job/career opportunities A career as a junior barber.
