What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job. You'll spend most of your week at work. You will also come to college one day a week for support and learn about the technical side of your job. You will learn about the fashion, textiles and retail industry. You'll also develop the practical skills you need to work in this fast-paced, competitive industry. Areas will include conducting sample analysis, producing prototype samples, developing designs for textile products, textile dyeing and printing plus fibre and yarn processing. How will I be assessed? We will assess your practical projects, written assignments and assess you at work throughout the study programme. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Art and Design, UAL Foundation Diploma A Foundation Degree in a creative subject, for example, Photography in Practice, Graphic Design, Film and Media Arts Production or Contemporary Art and Professional Studies Another degree study programme such as advertising, animation, illustration multimedia or photography. Job/career opportunities Clothing/textiles technologist, colourist, costume designer, embroidery designer, fashion designer, fashion predictor, fashion stylist, knitwear designer, pattern cutter/grader, tapestry designer, printmaker or textile designer.
