What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job - getting paid while you learn from your employer in a salon and coming into college for a day a week for practical training, theory, demonstrations and to work in our commercial salon. This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a beauty massage therapist including mandatory units covering the following body massage, Indian head massage, and massage with pre-blended oils, stone therapy, monitoring procedures in the salon and contributing to the planning of a promotional event. You will also be able to develop other skills such as eyelash extensions, nail-art, tanning and intimate waxing and have the opportunity to enter competitions such as WorldSkills. How will I be assessed? Your personal assessor will review your progress throughout the study programme. We will also assess you at our commercial college salon and you will do online tests. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to a higher level professional qualification in beauty therapy or a more specialist area.
