Media Studies GCE A Level Level 3

UPDATED 20170126 12:53:36

You might go through the day without ever noticing all the media that surrounds you, but if you're the kind of person who wonders why an advert looks the way it does, questions the kinds of news stories that are reported, and always has comments to make about TV shows, then this A-Level Media Studies course is perfect for you. You'll look at a range of media platforms, understanding how they operate, who they are aimed at and how they link together. This will include a focus on social media platforms and how they've revolutionised the industry, and an investigation of whether print media is dead. You'll also explore the different media institutions, how they influence final productions, and how certain identities are traditionally represented. As part of the coursework for this Media Studies A-Level, you'll be working to the brief of a fictional artist/group in the music industry and tasked with creating a new brand for them, focusing on using colours, signs and codes effectively. You'll even complete a case study on Star Wars, or Being Human, True Blood and Vampire Diaries!
