The Level 2 Certificate in First Language English (IGCSE) is an exciting course which offers you the opportunity to develop the Level 2 literacy skills that are essential for further study or employment. It is particularly designed for students who have not attempted the GCSE Certificate before. The course uses a varied selection of materials suitable for learners aged 16 or over and aims to help you to improve your communication skills. The Level 2 Certificate in First Language English (IGCSE) is equivalent to GCSE English.You will follow the CIE Level 2 Certificate in First Language English - IGCSE syllabus, which will introduce you to a wide range of literary and non-literary materials. This portfolio is completed during the first two terms of the course and is assessed by your course tutor. In addition, 80% of your final grade is made up of two written examinations, which are taken at the end of the year and include reading and writing tasks.
