Spanish is a world language, spoken in 21 different countries. By studying Spanish you will not only increase your practical knowledge of foreign languages, but also your understanding of European and world culture. You will also develop communication skills that will be of great value in employment or Higher Education. This qualification is also designed to meet the requirements of the EBacc for those wishing to study any subject at University.On the GCSE course you will develop your writing, speaking, reading and listening skills by studying a wide range of topics that will enable you to communicate successfully when visiting Spain. For example everyday activities such as: shopping for food and clothes; making travel arrangements or eating out.This course is intended for beginners who have shown some ability in previous foreign language courses. You will find a sense of excitement and satisfaction in learning a new language quickly. Assessment is one of the four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) at GCSE Higher or Standard level. If you are successful at Higher level you have the option of joining the AS/A2 level in a second year.
