The course provides a sound background for a career in health and social care. The course combines both academic and practical aspects related to health and social care and can enable successful students to progress to the Higher National Certificate or related university degree programmes. The course is made up of core and optional units at each stage of the qualification and is equivalent to 3 A Levels. 200 mandatory placement hours in a suitable health and social care setting is also required. The course is divided into various units covering a range of topics. These include: Equality diversity and rights in health and social care Developing effective communication in health and social care Anatomy and physiology in health and social care All applicants require a clean DBS check.
