CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Apprenticeship)

UPDATED 20170124 09:36:57

The Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young Peoples Workforce - Apprenticeship is for people who want to work in a range of early years settings and services with children from birth to 7 years (and their families). This qualification gives students the understanding and practical skills to be able to meet the individual needs of the child in a supporting role.Students need to be working in an appropriate early years setting for a minimum of 30 hours a week. The College will support students in finding an employer if required, so students will have employed status and will be learning and earning. The basic minimum apprenticeship wage is £2.73 per hour but many employers pay more than the minimum amount.Students are strongly advised to start the level 2 apprenticeship first before progressing onto the level 3 so that they have an opportunity to learn the job role, and the expectations of the course in a gentler manner. Also some areas of the level 2 CYPW, including 3 units, can be used directly as evidence for the level 3, meaning more time can be spent on other areas.
