The Sports Coaching and Development course is designed to build your skills and knowledge base. It is suitable for learners who have a keen interest in sports coaching or sports development. You will study in both practical and theoretical settings to understand advanced concepts in various areas of sport. This is the first part of a three-year study programme in which you will resit your GCSEs in English and Maths in the first year. This is to ensure your options for employment or higher education are improved on completion of the programme.

Learners can expect to be assessed through: practical demonstration logbooks and performance records written reports and essays presentations workbooks discussions and vivas Learners will be expected to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks throughout the year. You will need to purchase a kit. The cost of this will be finalised at the start of the course but is expected to be in the region of £140. This also includes the year-end celebration meal and yearly gym membership. This money is to be received before November. There may be additional costs incurred for selected trips or visits.
