The Post Graduate Certificate in Post-Compulsory Education & Training is an accepted qualification necessary for gaining Qualified Teacher Status in the Learning and Skills Sector (QTLS). Offered as either a two-year part-time course or one year full-time course by Gloucestershire College under franchise from Birmingham City University.Applications will be made through UCAS. This course is aimed at candidates living or working in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. The award is open to anyone wishing to train to teach in the E&T sector, including those who have not taught before or who are currently teaching part time. Candidates are expected to have a minimum 2:2 degree qualification in their specialist subject or a degree in another subject and a level 3 qualification in the subject they wish to teach. They must also have GCSE C or above in English and maths. Certificates will be required. Candidates must elect a suitable qualified mentor who can guide them within their specialist subject area. Applicants who receive sponsorship, e.g. Gloucestershire College staff receiving Training and Development support, should have their sponsorship agreed in writing before commencing the course. Interviews: You will be contacted for interview which will take place under the direction of BCU.
