This Electrical and Electronic Engineering (HND) course is ideal for candidates who may have some knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Engineering already and wish to work in higher paid roles. Higher National Diploma is a well-respected industry qualification for engineering students and employers, who value the practical as well as theoretical skills that you gain on the programme. Using electricity to process and store the information behind technology such as mobile phones and computers, as well as a huge range of systems in commerce and industry, is the principle that underlies electrical /electronic engineering. Both depend on the same fundamental scientific laws, but diverge widely beyond these starting points. As technology progresses, we become more reliant on electrical and electronic systems to control mechanical devises and as such the opportunities for employment in this sector have increased.Students would normally possess a Higher National Certificate in Engineering, or relevant A levels with GCSEs (including Maths and Science). Mature students with relevant experience will be individually assessed. Students with a HNC can use those units towards the HND where appropriate. All candidates will be interviewed and will be required to complete a diagnostic assessment of their maths abilities prior to enrolment.Duration of Course:HND Full-Time - 1 year; Part- time - 4 yearsHND Conversion (Top up from HNC to HND part-time) - 2 years
