The course for you if you would love to further your skills and knowledge in Art and Design for the creative industries, and work towards a portfolio that showcases your strengths and interests. This course is ideal if you enjoy bringing ideas to life and wish to pursue a career in the creative sector. You will learn how to research, evaluate and present your ideas clearly, and to solve creative problems. You'll study a range of Art and Design disciplines in year one, and then apply these skills in your chosen specialist area in year two. You will develop your skills in the use of computers in Art and Design as well as completing five compulsory core units including; visual communication (drawing), contextual studies and a choice of other subjects from a range of specialist professional areas such as: Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography, Fashion and Textiles. You'll also have the opportunity to visit local and national galleries and take part in an exhibition at the end of the course to showcase your work.
