Foundation Degree in Management

This course is designed for those working or wishing to work in a wide variety of business organisations, whether it be in the public or private sector. It is also designed to cater for the needs of employees working in, or aspiring to a management or supervisory role . Assessments can be tailored to focus on the student's organisation, building and developing their depth of knowledge about how their organisation operates whilst providing added value to employers. The Foundation Degree is equivalent to the first two years of an Honours degree and there is an option to top-up to a BA Hon Business with the College. The foundation degree and top up are BA Honours Business Studies Degree awarded by and quality assured by the University of Chichester. The programme aims to equip students to understand the nature of organisations and the way in which they work, the roles they are called upon to play, and how they might enhance their own performance in pursuit of chosen careers. The programme also equips individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills for success in a range of administrative and management positions. The majority of assignments and the majority of the module taught content is related to an individual's own workplace.The programme aims to set work within an academic context and encourages the development of higher level skills such as research and evaluation of problems and potential solutions in a business context as well as developing a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. Consequently, the Foundation Degree in Management (FDM) offers a mix of academic and vocational/professional study that encourages students to develop within their work environment and to be reflective, lifelong learners.Successful completion of the FDM
