The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing for Cutting and Styling Technicians is a technical level qualification aimed at 16-18 learners who are in a full-time Level 3 education programme and wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed senior hairdresser/stylist, cutting men's and women's hair.There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but in order to optimise their chances of success, a learner will ideally hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in hairdressing. This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to work effectively as a senior hairdresser/stylist, cutting men's and women's hair.Throughout this qualification, learners will develop the knowledge and understanding to provide cutting and styling services to men and women. In particular, learners will develop their understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. They will also develop their ability to consult with clients, provide a range of cutting services for male and female clients and set, dress and finish the hair. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are highly valued by employers. Attendance for this course is once a week - Thursday 9.30-7.30pm
