The course is intended to give an overview of the practical history of photography and the technological advances that allowed for new styles, genres, and subjects in photography since it first emerged in the 1820's. Examples of photography from the different eras will help illustrate the changes, and some of the influential photographers. There will be hands experience of some of the equipment that was used through the advances. It will cover the period 1827 to 1990s, and perhaps beyond.
