Develop your Drawing at The Beaney

If you are interested in developing your drawing skills then this is the course for you! In each session, with the guidance of artist Clare Langlands, a different drawing technique or approach will be demonstrated and explained, which you will then be able to put into practice using The Beaney's varied and interesting collection of paintings as a resource. There will be plenty of guidance and support, , By the end of the course you should be able to, , • Use different drawing techniques, • Use a selection of drawing materials with some confidence, • Engage with and respond to the work of other artists, • Generate ideas for further drawing using The Beaney collection as a resource. , , There is no 'homework' for this course, but you might like to research artists and ideas referred to on the course in your own time., , There is no qualification for this course. This course is for beginners and those with a little experience of drawing.

Entry requirements

Please do not buy anything especially for the course until you have checked with the Canterbury Centre on 03000 412222, about a week before the course starts, that it is going ahead. Students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, a 2B pencil and an eraser to the first session. Your tutor will advise you on buying any additional materials, but these will need to be provided by you and will vary in cost according to the course requirements.
