This course combines wet and dry felting techniques with free embroidery and hand stitching techniques. You will learn how to use wool to create colourful textile pieces with pictures and patterns to your own design. The textile pieces you create will then be further developed to produce three-dimensional products such as hats, bags or scarves or could be displayed as a framed artwork or as a wall hanging or cushion cover. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and craftspeople and you will keep a sketchbook or notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. This course will be informative, experimental and fun., , By the end of the course, students will:, - have a good understanding of the processes involved in feltmaking , - use machine and hand stitching to embellish felted pieces , - experiment with techniques to produce their own artwork, - be familiar with the work of contemporary and traditional craftspeople, , Beginners and those with some experience. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

A digital camera would also be useful if you already have one.
