If you are interested in learning how to draw people then this is the course for you! In each session, with the guidance of artist Clare Langlands, a different drawing technique or approach will be demonstrated and explained, which you will then be able to put into practice using The Beaney's varied and interesting collection of paintings as a resource. There will be plenty of guidance and support and you will enjoy gaining an increased understanding of the portraits in the collection. The course will run on the following dates: 25/4/17, 9/5/17, 16/5/17 and 23/5/17. , , By the end of the course you should be able to, , • Demonstrate an understanding of facial proportion, • Practise different techniques for drawing features, • Use a selection of drawing materials with some confidence, • Engage with and respond to the work of other artists, • Generate ideas for further drawing using The Beaney collection as a resource. , , There is no 'homework' for this course, but you might like to research artists and ideas referred to on the course in your own time., , There is no qualification for this course. This course is for beginners and those with a little experience of drawing.
