This summer school will focus on painting mainly outside (depending on the weather) in watercolour. You will develop your skills in colour mixing and use of colour, planning compositions, and using cropping and viewing frames. The locations used will be arranged nearer the time and an entrance fee might be payable at the venue(s), depending on the location(s) chosen. , , By the end of the course, you should be able to:, , • Demonstrate and understand relevant watercolour techniques., • Demonstrate successful use of relevant equipment and resources, • Demonstrate successful use of composition, • Successfully review and evaluate your own work, • Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines , , There is no qualification for this course., , , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper and a variety of pencils and watercolours. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you already have some materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you to the first session.
