Stop Frame Animation for Beginners

This highly exciting form of animation combines many of the most fundamental animation principles used across all animation mediums. Stop-motion stands out because you do not have to be artistic to create it or even highly computer literate, however as an artist there are many further possibilities. , The aim of this course is to enable every participant to make their own stop-motion film and to understand and enjoy the process. , The course will cover the necessary steps for planning, constructing, animating and editing a basic stop-motion film, using common materials easily found in a variety of different shops. Each student will need their own computer for using the recommended software - which will be disclosed along with other details before the course starts - in order to create their own animated project at home, during the course time. At the end of the course there will be a screening of these home-made films to appreciate each others achievements. Anyone who has access to the hardware and software needed - and is willing to spend some time and particularly patience, in bringing their own models to life. You will need to be familiar with how to install and basically use the software and apps required for the course. We will contact you about a week before the course so you can tell us the type of laptop or tablet you have and we can advise you which software you need to install. , Please note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity.
