On this course higher level Oil painting course you will explore different methods of oil painting and be encouraged to develop your own style of working whether realism, representational or abstract to name a few genres. The ethos is independent thinking with a critique at the end of each project to develop critical reflection. Tuition is on an individual basis with relevant demonstrations to improve painting skills. Sketchbooks will be expected throughout the projects with a suitable historical context to the project work. , By the end of the course you will be able to:, Use artists research to inform your aesthetic and technical choices, Choose a relevant ground colour to enhance your painting techniques and stylistic choices, Work from both 2D and 3D references., Explore a range of mark making techniques within your paintings, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines, Anyone who has completed Oil painting courses with KAE or has the equivalent art experience., It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.
