On this half day course you will be able to apply special raku glazes and fire previously bisque fired work using the exciting and immediate process of raku, creating unpredictable and dramatic effects. The firing takes place out of doors, so is weather dependent., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, , Understand and participate in the process of a raku firing;, , Glaze and fire a previously created piece of pottery;, , Be familiar with the work of at least one potter working in raku;, , Be aware of and work to health and safety guidelines., , Suitable for all levels.

Please wear old clothes and shoes that protect your feet (no sandals). You will need to have made pots to fire earlier, avoiding fragile bodies or construction methods. All pots are paid for by fired weight at a reasonable rate. Health and safety issues are highly important on this type of course and you will receive a thorough induction to safe working practices.
