Life Drawing

Students will gain experience in Life drawing techniques with live models who will be used to introduce stylistic concepts and approaches to completing a life study painting., , By the end of the course students should be able to:, -Use the skills of recording and developing ideas to create a personal sketch book., -Explain and understand some of the ideas and influences of past masters/contemporary artists in relations to the development of their own works., -Plan and produce works which show the use of the essential elements in Drawing/painting, line, shape, volume, tone,colour., -Through talks, discussions and group critiques/gain skills of evaluating and analysing own/peers work., , Please note both male and female unclothed models will be used. Those who have very little prior experience of life drawing, but with some skill in drawing. It is important to note that art courses are practical requiring a degree of manual dexterity for students to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some materials including paper are available to buy in the centre. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
