Stained Glass

Students will learn design and craft skills to produce decorative stained glass panes using lead. Beginners will make a pane using a basic design incorporating the initila skills which need to be practised. Students will progress to their own projects which could include fan lights, lamps, jewellery boxes and terrariums., , By the end of the course student should be able to-, - Accurately transfer a design from paper to glass ready to cut., - Safely cut glass using appropriate tools, - Correctly insert and join lead This course is for beginners and those with some prior experience.

Entry requirements

You will need a pen and notebook. An apron or overalls are optional. Open toe shoes must not be worn and hair must be tied back for safety. For the first session new students should bring an A3 size sheet of clear glass, 3mm thick plus drawing materials. Returning or experienced students should bring design ideas and drawing materials. Please do not buy tools without first consulting the tutor. The cost of tools will be approximately £10-£25. There will be a small cost of consumables, lead, glass etc throughout the course.
