Glass - Screen Printing

UPDATED 20170119 11:44:16

Glass - Sreen Printing. This course will explore methods of printing to create imagery in glass. Returning students will have the opportunity to continue their experimentation , The primary technique will be screen printing with alternative printing methods suited to the chosen image/s. The use of inclusions may be appropriate, The intention is to layer the glass to create a 3-dimensional effect when fired - looking through the glass to see a complete image either pictorial or abstract, Colour will play an important role in the experimental stages to inform the final outcome. The use of sketchbook work and photographic documentation will show an increased awareness of design through a personal body of work with visual imagery and annotation, The techniques can be used alongside students' personal programme to inspire current working methods moving glasswork to a higher level, Equally the student in early stages of glasswork will find the course a source of inspiration for future projects, A chance to work with Pippa Stacey, a well-known professional glass artist. The outcomes for this 6 week course will depend upon your experience and level of skill. The least experienced will produce a series of samples which will inform future work. The more experienced may be able to produce a finished piece in the time available., This is a high level course for experienced glass students. It is only suitable for experienced students, such as those with Level 3 City and Guilds
