This 'Touch Typing in a Day' course in Tonbridge is a structured touch typing course for motivated individuals looking to develop their keyboard skills. , , Home keys and correct placement of fingers will be the main emphasis with exercises for all keys. Emphasis will also be placed on the need for accuracy whilst building speed and that the skills learnt will only be mastered through continued practise after the course. The course is intended to introduce touch typing and provide sufficient skills to enable students to progress to the 'Touch Typing - Improve Speed and Accuracy' one day course if they wish. , , At the end of the day students will: , , - Understand the use of a keyboard to enter text; , - Position fingers correctly on keys; , - Explain the need and importance of accuracy while building speed;, - Demonstrate understanding of the need and importance of continued practise to master the skill., , Please Note: This course is for those wishing to type on a computer using word processing software only and is not suitable for those wishing to use word processor hardware. The majority of people today use a keyboard and most would say that they would like to be able to key data more quickly and accurately. Whatever their age, whatever they may be using the keyboard for: emails, blogging, compiling data, news sheets, letters, lecture notes on a computer or any other data storage and communicator with a qwerty keyboard layout. This intensive one day introduction for beginners to the skills and techniques required to successfully learn to touch type., , Participants should be able to use a wordprocessor at a basic level.
