Sewing Bee - Make Your own Bunting

This 'Sewing Bee' course in Sevenoaks is designed to enable students to gain knowledge and confidence in their sewing skills and in using a machine, in an exciting, fun and informative way., , Sewing and making things is following a huge resurgence at the moment. Many people are realising there are savings to be made by making your own soft furnishings, clothes, accessories and gifts and the range of lovely fabrics available is growing, with shops selling all sorts of sewing paraphernalia now open in most towns., , The sale of sewing machines has almost doubled over the last few years, though most people owning one do not know how to use it properly., , Students can choose to make a wide variety of projects, from small gifts and soft furnishings, curtains and blinds, to simple garments for themselves or their children. The tutor will discuss each student's learning requirements at the start of the course and will advise on the best method of obtaining success with their chosen project., , Students on this course can learn how to:, , - Cut the fabric to make most use of it, - Use a simple pattern and follow written or diagrammatic instructions. , - Use their sewing machine to best advantage., - Use the appropriate techniques to make their items to a high standard., , NB: Please bring your own sewing machine if you have one, we also have some you can use whilst on the course. The class is suitable for absolute beginners and those with little or no experience in sewing and are interested in finding out a bit about the 'Sewing Bee' and for those who want to learn how to use their machine.
