Enjoy this watercolour course in Sevenoaks, by the end of students will have a basic knowledge of composition and colour theory, and will be able to use a few watercolour techniques. Traditional and experimental watercolour techniques will be explored, including the combination of watercolour with other media, e.g. pen and ink, charcoal. By working from both direct observation and from photographic references and sketches, you will encounter a variety of interesting and stimulating subject matter - landscape, still life, natural forms, etc. Reference will also be made to the work of other artists as appropriate., By the end of the course you should be able to :-, Demonstrate progression in observation and representational drawing skills , · Use a wide range of tonal values, · Display understanding of colour theory and be able to mix a wide range of colours, · Lay and overlay washes , · Use a range of techniques including wet in wet and wet on dry , Plan a compositiion using one or more sources Watercolour for students who are Beginners to watercolour or students who have some experience and would like to revisit the essential skills.It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
