This course consists of the following: Level 3 Specialist Diploma in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (NVQ) Mandatory Units: Child and young person development Safeguarding Communication and professional relationships Schools as organisations Support learning activities Promote positive behaviour Engage in personal development Develop professional relationships Promote equality and inclusion Support assessment for learning Support health & safety Optional Units: Plan and deliver learning activities under direction Support literacy and numeracy development Support speech, language and communication Support 14-19 curriculum delivery Support bilingual learner Support learners with special education needs, behaviour, social and emotional development needs Support learners with cognition, communication, sensory, physical or personal care needs Support during transitions Promote wellbeing and resilience Assist in administration of medication Invigilate tests, maintain learner records, monitor resources Support young people to achieve educational potential, make positive changes in relation to sexual health Improving the attendance in statutory education and who are excluded from school Work in partnership with parents Supervise on journeys and travel Leadership and management, plan, allocate and monitor work team, set objectives and provide support for team members To achieve the full qualification students must attain a minimum of 44 credits in total which comprise of: All of the mandatory units (32 credits) A further 12 credits must be achieved from the relevant pathway combinations in the Option Groups Units to be discussed with assessor and selected for the appropriate job role
