This course consists of the following: Level 2 Certificate in supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (NVQ) Mandatory Units: Child & young person development Safeguarding Communication & professional relationships Equality, diversity & inclusion Help improve own team practice in schools Maintain & support relationships Help improve own and team practice Support health & safety Support positive behaviour Support learning activities Option A Unit: Schools as organisations Optional Units: Supporting bilingual learners Invigilate exams and tests Prepare learning environments Support assessment for learning Support at meal and snack times Support play and leisure Support travel outside the setting Support individuals with disabilities and special educational needs Support extra-curricular activities Support the use of ICT for teaching and learning Move and position individuals Provide support for therapy sessions To achieve the full qualification students must attain a minimum of 30 credits in total which comprise of: All of the mandatory units (24 credits) A further 6 credits must be achieved from the Optional Groups
