This course allows you to study while you work and link your experiences in the workplace to your studies and coursework. It's also a great platform to share examples of best practice with your fellow students and learn from each other's' experiences. This pathway examines the wide range of special educational needs. It helps to develop an understanding of the origins of learning disabilities and difficulties and provides techniques for supporting students with special educational needs. You'll study the following core modules on the course: • supporting literacy, numeracy and ICT across the curriculum • assessment for learning • inclusive practice • personal development and professional practice • understanding and managing behaviour • teaching and learning strategies • professional practice • innovation in teaching and learning methods Additional modules for this special educational needs pathway of the course include: • educational provision and ongoing development for special educational needs • techniques and strategies for managing the learning of those with special education needs • specific learning disabilities and difficulties (autism, ADHD) • specific learning disabilities and difficulties (dyslexia and dyscalculia) Your assignments will be sector-focussed, such as lifelong learning, or compulsory education, to develop the relevant skills of analysis and evaluation.
