BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Art & Design - Photography

UPDATED 20170116 13:03:54

Students create a portfolio of assignments in response to a number of briefs which have a vocational scenarios; developing outcomes in both Location and Studio Photography disciplines. Students are expected to learn about and explore the technical aspects of using cameras and lens, including studio lighting effects and in the use of Photoshop for editing and refining imagery. Through thoughtful analysis and evaluation of professional photographers' work students will gain confidence in applying the aesthetic conventions of creating photographic imagery. Students present their completed assignments combining imagery and text as Power Point presentations; presentations should show how their images have been developed and refined to create carefully considered outcomes which successfully meet the requirements of each brief. As the course develops students are expected to use their initiative and imagination to produce innovative and personal responses through self-led briefs which build upon their interests in a particular area or subject. Students who complete the course may progress onto a more general Art or Design related course or a higher level Photographic Study.
