An Introduction to the Health and Social Care industry, NCFE Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 2 - this award consists of 9 units. •Unit 1 - Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care •Unit 2 - Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings •Unit 3 - Principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Adult Social Care •Unit 4 - Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care •Unit 5 - Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children's and Young People's Settings •Unit 6 - Understand the Role of the Health and Social Care Worker •Unit 7 - Understand Person Centred Approaches in Adult Social Care •Unit 8 - Understand Health and Safety in Social Care Settings •Unit 9 - Understand how to Handle Information in Adult Social Care Settings This is delivered over a 5 week period with the learner attending 3 days per week for 5 hours which would be worked around school and term time. As well as the course content we also deliver skills to access employment and IAG to make the learner aware of the different paths that they can take in care. This course is specifically for the learner to commence into employment in the care environment and upon completion of this award they will already have achieved one aim of their Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care which they will need to complete once in employment. we are aware that the apprenticeships are changing and this award also maps into the new apprenticeship standards. In line with this it will cut down dramatically on the work that the learner will have to complete once in the work setting. We are also able to after completion of this course advance the learners onto their apprenticeship ensuring that their training and tutor is consistent which will help them to achieve their goals.
