This introductory course will give you a good overview of silkscreen printmaking. You will be working with paper and photographic stencils using acrylic water based printing inks.This course will give you a basic grounding in making silkscreen prints You will make a series of prints from simple paper stencils and then develop photographic stencils. The course will cover: • Organising your work bench • Creating paper stencils • Print edition & papers • Mixing inks, registration and printing • Prepare an image in Photoshop for silkscreen • Apply and expose photographic emulsion • Cleaning and care of screens • Safe printing - Health and Safety advice

Name: Screenprinting Processes Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Crafts, Creative Arts and Design Qualification type: Assessment Bring to first class: A number of images that you are interested in working from. A craft knife, scissors, and masking tape would be useful. Also a notebook / sketchbook for developing compositions and writing technical notes, and pencils. The college has a stock of resale paper. (Inks are included in the course fee) For further information email art@racc.ac.uk This specialist course has been identified to run with fewer numbers due to either the student demand for the course and subject area or the need for increased one to one tuition.
