This introductory course will give you a good overview of silkscreen printmaking. You will be working with paper and photographic stencils using acrylic water based printing inks.This course will give you a basic grounding in making silkscreen prints You will make a series of prints from simple paper stencils and then develop photographic stencils. The course will cover: • Organising your work bench • Creating paper stencils • Print edition & papers • Mixing inks, registration and printing • Prepare an image in Photoshop for silkscreen • Apply and expose photographic emulsion • Cleaning and care of screens • Safe printing - Health and Safety advice

A craft knife, scissors, and masking tape would be useful. Also a notebook / sketchbook for developing compositions and writing technical notes, and pencils. The college has a stock of resale paper.
