Comedy Writing - Introduction

This course will give you the skills needed to write two-minute sketches, the building blocks of comedy. You will discover valuable techniques in creating a flow of creative ideas and learn how to structure a sketch. You'll explore ways of creating vivid, funny characters and writing sharp comic dialogue. There will also be advice on finding markets. Using mindmaps to brainstorm ideas. How to turn your raw material into ideas for comedy. The different types of sketch. Creating effective dialogue and the use of jokes and humour. Looking at and discussing clips of classic sketches Creating character sketches. At the end of the course you will have a portfolio of material and be given advice on layout, presentation and selling of your sketches.
