Introduction to IT OCNLR Level 1 Award

This short intensive qualification course aims to provide the basic skills in using ICT. ICT skills are required in most jobs and as an essential life skills as they are a good way of improving productivity and efficiency and as the pre-dominate way to communicate. You will need to be able to use a keyboard and a mouse and have some confidence with IT and this will be used to build your confidence and knowledge more. 100% Attendance is required to complete the course.The module is taught so that you gain knowledge of best practice and are able to evaluate the use of IT so that your work practices are efficient. The methods of teaching are: Classroom based with work related material Group work and Pair work Class assignments The Learning Outcomes are: 1. Ensuring that you are working with ICT safely and securely. 2. Organising your work into files and folders. 3. Using email to send messages and attachments. 4. Managing your emails and ensuring safe practices. 5. Using Word to create information documents. 6. Using Word to edit documents.
