The cost for those who are not entitled to free learning is £75.You will develop an understanding of what retail is, from customer service, to stock controland the contribution of individuals and teams to an effective retail business. This qualification is assessed by the completion of a portfolio of evidence. This approach to assessment supports the development of communication skills such as extended writing and drafting, analysis, team-working, working from a prescribed brief, working to deadlines, presenting information effectively, accurately completing tasks and processes and study skills such as research and time management. These skills will help support progression to level 2 and any future chosen course. By the end of the course you can expect to complete the following units: Understand the Business of Retail Understand Customer Service in the Retail Sector Understand the control, handling and replenishment of stock in a retail business Understand how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business This Award is aimed at learners who want to develop the knowledge and skills needed to progress to further study and ultimately to employment in retail or in another vocational sector. It is an introduction to the sector, enabling learners to acquire and apply their knowledge and skills in a range of retail contexts. Your Tutor will discuss requirements on the course induction day that will be advised when you enrol. text17 On satisfactorily completing all learning tasks and submission of a portfolio of evidence, you will receive a BTEC Level 1 Award in Retail Knowledge (QCF) Learners who complete this qualification may progress to level 2 retail qualifications or use their acquired transferable skills to progress to other vocational related sectors such as business or IT. text19
