Pet First Aid

This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in first aid for pets. It is ideal for Pet owners or Pet professionals. It covers the main first aid subjects for Dogs and Cats but this information is also suitable for most other animals. The course focuses on the most common pet-related accidents and illnesses, including choking and CPR. CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is an emergency procedure that combines chest compression often with artificial ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken. Understanding basic first aid for your pet will give you the skills to assist them and prevent them from getting worse before professional help is given by your vet. The certificate is valid for 3 years. By the end of the course you will know how to: Keep your pet safe Deal with accidents involving pets Give CPR to a pet Deal with a pet who is choking Handle bleeding Deal with drowning Identify possible pet illnesses This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in first aid for pets. It is ideal for Pet owners or pet professionals such as dog walkers/sitters, boarders and groomers. Comfortable clothing so you can get on the floor to practice practical exercises. A notepad and pen would also be useful. text17 You will receive a certificate from Protrainings which is valid for three years. You will receive weekly videos on Pet First aid topics for 8 months following the course. There are no other pet first aid courses at Bracknell Open Learning Centre but there is a Security Dog First Aid training course available elsewhere to professionals working with dogs. You will need to retake the course in three years time to re-qualify. text19
