Essential Negotiation Skills

UPDATED 20170112 12:59:08

A highly interactive programme that builds on apprentices existing selling skills and equips them with all required negotiation skills to cover a wide range of situations. This will ensure apprentices maximise the commercial value they secure in all future negotiations. After initially exploring what is a negotiation, then defining affecting factors, apprentices are introduced to a robust methodology that quickly builds confidence and competence. The programme places great emphasis on practicing negotiation and gives apprentices extensive opportunity to work with and to learn from both apprentices and facilitators. Apprentices will be involved in a range of negotiations which are all observed and help create the apprentices post course action plan. The programme comprehensively covers key areas of negotiation: * Explore the difference between selling and negotiation * Learn and practice the SKATER methodology for approaching all potential negotiations * KALEIDOSCOPIC preparation, which ensures apprentices are fully prepared for all situations * Extensive practice with the Total Negotiation tool-kit * Develop the communication skills necessary to support effective negotiating * Exploration of negotiating styles and how to flex to achieve desired outcomes * Become confident & competent negotiators through constant practice of skills and techniques learned Apprentices will then continue to work with the Total Negotiation team to embed the learnings and develop against their action plans on live negotiations.
