PERSONAL TRAINING - NCFE LEVEL 3 CERT

This is a one year part time course geared towards a career in the fast growing industry of fitness instruction and personal training. The course duration will be thirty weeks, taking place one evening per week for three hours. The course is suitable for adults aged 18 and above, who are seeking employment within the fitness industry with the aim of developing a career as a personal trainer. It will lead to self-employment opportunities. The course is focussed on key areas of fitness and delivering personal training. The course is predominantly practical and based on work related assessments and written coursework. It also covers theoretical learning of nutrition, anatomy and physiology. You will study the following: *Unit 01 Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity *Unit 02 Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment *Unit 03 Principles of exercise, fitness and health *Unit 04 Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health *Unit 05 Programming personal training with clients *Unit 06 Delivering personal training sessions *Unit 07 Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme A key feature of this course is appropriate work experience in the fitness industry. All LMC students will receive tutorial support and guidance. All students will have remote access to LMC's virtual learning environment; Moodle. LMC offers all level 3 students the opportunity to gain GCSE English and maths qualifications. We would strongly recommend that you take this opportunity into serious consideration if you do not hold a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. Not obtaining these qualifications could potentially have an impact on your chances of gaining employment and/or a place at university after your College course.
