This Level 2 Motor Vehicle course covers the theory and practical aspects of light vehicle tyres, wheel alignment, exhaust systems, suspension, batteries and brakes. The course is both classroom and workshop based with practical and on-line assessments. You will also gain a broad knowledge of health and safety in the workplace along with other skills associated with working in a garage. The course is suitable for school leavers aged 16-18 who would like to gain knowledge of the basic vehicle fitting operations. You will study the following: * Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping * Support for Automotive Job Roles * Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices * Inspect, Repair and Replace Light Vehicle Tyres * Inspect and Replace Exhaust Components * Inspect, Test and Replace Vehicle Batteries * Inspect and Replace Brake System Components All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills.
