ACCESS TO NURSING & HEALTHCARE

This is a one year programme providing you with the opportunity to seek entry to Higher Education courses in the Nursing and Paramedical areas, including Midwifery, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Paramedic and Health Care Professions, or further training. It is highly recommended that students have some care work experience or are prepared to gain experience in a health care setting. More information on the subject options within the Access Diploma can be found at: http://www.lmc.ac.uk/courses/full-time-courses/access-diploma/subject-options-level-3 The course is primarily aimed at mature students aged 19+ who are prepared to commit themselves to a full year of study for approximately 15 hours per week and who want to progress onto university. It is particularly geared towards students who want a second opportunity in education or who have gaps in their education due to other commitments. The course enables you to achieve the full Diploma by accumulating 60 credits in a number of subjects related to your career aspirations. The Level 3 (A Level Standard) subjects are: * Human Physiology * Human Growth and Development * Psychology * Sociology * English Language and Literature In addition you will be expected to study GCSE Maths and English if you do not already have a C/4 grade in these subjects
