This course offers a sound introduction to the exciting and prosperous careers in hairdressing and beauty therapy. You will gain knowledge and learn new techniques and skills in a variety of basic hairdressing and beauty therapy services. The course is suitable for school leavers who would like a career in hairdressing or beauty therapy. You may study the following: * Shampoo and conditioning * Hair Plaiting * Skin care * Hand care * Introduction to the hair and beauty sector * Presenting a professional image * Styling women's hair * Basic make-up application * Nail art application * Basic manicure * Basic pedicure * Create a hair and beauty image * Health and safety * Compulsory work placement All students aged 16-19 are required to study functional English and maths qualifications or GCSE Maths and/or English if not already awarded a GCSE grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression to further or higher education, training or employment. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
