ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) is the internationally recognised qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in a wide range of computer skills. ECDL can help you to be more efficient in your existing job or even the ability to get a new job. This course is held at Morecambe Learning Centre. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects. The course is designed to give a more in depth knowledge and understanding of computer use. The qualification is made up of four modules: * Word Processing * Spreadsheets * Presentation Software * Improving Productivity using IT All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
