CONSTRUCTION MULTI SKILLS - LEVEL 1

The course is for students who are not employed in the construction industry but want to develop skills within the trade with a view to progressing onto a specific full time course - Brickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing or Apprenticeships. The course is suitable for school leavers who would like a career in the construction industry or who will progress to higher level courses. You will study the following: * Safe Working * Basic Rendering Skills * Basic Bricklaying Skills and Blockwork Skills * Basic Carpentry and Joinery * Basic Guttering Skills * Basic Levelling Skills All LMC students will receive tutorial support. All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
