Level 3 CG Advanced Technical Certificate Equine Management (360)

UPDATED 20170111 12:00:11

The College provides opportunities to study at level 3 (A level equivalent) to students who wish to develop a comprehensive understanding of animal and equine science in relation to equine management. This encompasses practical techniques, academic knowledge and technical skills. It is a popular option for both school leavers and successful Level 2 Diploma students. This course offers students either a direct route into industry in a practical setting or a valid route into Higher Education with the opportunity to achieve a maximum of 168 UCAS points on completion with a distinction profile. The course incorporates a mix of practicals, classroom lectures, industry visits and case study exercises. During the Level 3 Advanced Technical Suite students will gain practical experience in riding, working horses from the ground, yard duties, preparation for presentation and horse tack and equipment. Study programmes are designed to be individualised to the needs of each student and we offer different optional units to cater for these needs. On successful completion of the Level 3 Advanced Technical Certificate (360) in Equine Management learners will be able to progress to a second year which, on successful completion, will provide the learners with a Level 3 Technical Extended Diploma in Equine Management (720) and the possibility of applying for Higher Education or moving into employment in the equine industry. Opportunities within equine and the allied industries are currently very good. The City and Guilds Technical Qualifications provides the certification and experience for entry into the industry at an operational level with future prospects for management.
