Aims and Objectives The main aim of the ITEC Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Photographic Make-up is to enable Learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide Hair and Photographic Make-up to the general public and to gain employment in the Hair and Photographic Make-up Industry. The qualification is suitable for Learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at Level 2. It also provides a sound platform into further learning at Levels 2 and 3 Content This qualification is for Learners who want to work within the Hair and photographic Make-up Industry. The qualification consists of 10 mandatory units with a total of 321 hours of Guided Learning (GL) to achieve the full qualification The main skills the Learner will perform are: * Application of all make-up products – to include recognition of face shapes and corrective make-up * Photographic make-up – to include working to a brief, producing a design and developing images, lighting and camera effects, application of make-up using products and techniques to suit the design image * Themed face painting – to include designing a 2D image and adapting the 2D image to a 3D surface, application and removal * Body art design – to include application using a variety of techniques and equipment and removal * Creating an image based on a theme - to include planning an image, creating and presenting a mood board and identifying media images to create a theme * Dressing hair – to include selecting and using a variety of styling products, tools and equipment in order to achieve the desired look The Learner will also develop knowledge about related health and safety and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the Industry
